What is a core team for a startup?

A core team is a managed, fixed-price development unit that a startup rents instead of hiring. At Metamindz it is a fractional CTO, a technical delivery manager and a senior full-stack developer, with QA, UI, UX, DevOps, data engineering, cyber security and extra engineers added as add-ons. The team handles its own planning, code review and quality control, so an existing tech lead or CTO does not have to manage it.

Usually yes, and that is a common setup. The Core Team runs its own delivery, code review and QA, so your CTO gets extra throughput without extra management. They stay the decision-maker on product and architecture direction; our fractional CTO makes sure the team executes to that standard.

As a productivity multiplier with structured workflows and human oversight, not as vibe coding. AI is used for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation and code review support. A senior engineer reviews everything, and there are explicit guardrails around authentication, payments, personal data and anything security-sensitive.

GA4 and Google Tag Manager as the baseline, with PostHog or Mixpanel for product analytics where they earn their place. We define the events with your marketing and growth people, implement them as part of the feature rather than afterwards, and check they actually fire before a release is called done.

Three months. That is enough to onboard, ship real features and judge the team on the work.
